
Law Offices of David J. Yang was established in 1984 by Mr. David J. Yang in San Francisco, California. He received his Master of Law degree in 1980 from Southern Methodist University, Texas and his Juris Doctor degree in 1983 from Ohio Northern University, Ohio. Mr. Yang was admitted to the State Bar of California in 1983. He is also admitted to practice at the U.S. District Court, Northern District; 9th Circuit of Court of Appeals; and the U.S. Supreme Court.
Mr. Yang is a seasoned litigation attorney with over 30 years of experience. Throughout his professional law career his practice has emphasized the importance of pre-litigation and procedural legal counseling for business enterprises and individuals both in state and federal court systems.
The United States Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit has authorized publication of two opinions from Mr. Yang’s appearances before it: Taiwan v. U.S. District Court, 128 F.3d 712 (9th Cir. 1997) and Sun v. Taiwan, 201 F. 3d 1105 (9th Cir. 2000). Plaintiffs in Sun unsuccessfully appealed to the U.S. Supreme Court, which chose not to disturb the Ninth Circuit’s ruling in Mr. Yang’s client’s favor.
In addition to his law practice, Mr. Yang teaches California Civil Procedures, Contract and Business Law at the University of California, Berkeley Extension Paralegal Studies program at its campuses in the San Francisco Bay Area, where he maintains his residence and private offices.
